Blessings and Prayers for Parents
Heavenly Father, I’m having a moment of panic and I feel like I’m not going to be a good parent. There are so many unknowns in being a Mom and a Dad, and that scares me. I know You are in control. Please help me overcome these waves of panic I experience. Help me to rely completely on You. Amen
It’s my baby’s birthday! I thank You for this past season, especially the blessing of this child growing within me. I ask for Your guidance on this new journey of being a parent. I know that this gift of new life comes from You and I thank You and praise You. Amen
Care of Children
Almighty God, You have blessed us with the joy and care of children. Give us calm strength and patient wisdom that, as they grow in years, we may enable them to love whatever is just and true and good. May our children experience security, peace and purpose in You.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
– Philippians 4:6
Home & Family
We give You thanks for the gift of our family. Give us Your kind of love for one another. Help us to be forgiving, kind, and true. Especially we ask that You would keep us close to You.
Muslim Baby Blessing
You have been blessed in what you have been given. May you give thanks to the One who granted it. May your child reach maturity and right-guidance, and may Allah make him/her a blessing to you.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
The Mizpah Prayer
Mizpah is a Hebrew word for “watch-post”
“The Lord watch between you and me, when we are out of one another’s sight.” – Genesis 31:49
Almighty and eternal God, who promises Your divine presence to Your people wherever they be, graciously watch over us as we are away from one another. Protect us from dangers of the body and temptations of the soul. Awaken in our hearts a deeper love to one another and to You.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
El SENOR te bendiga y te guarde;
el SENOR haga resplandecer su rostro sobre ti, y tenga de ti misericordia;
el SENOR alce sobre ti su rostro, y te de paz.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
Psalm 139:13-18, 23-24
For You formed my inward parts;
You knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret ...
Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
