Tim Eckstein, DO, MPH, FAOCOPM
Dr. Eckstein currently serves as the Medical Director of Covenant Occupational Health and Wellness. Prior to joining the staff of Covenant he worked in the field of occupational medicine for over 20 years.

Dr. Ekstein is a graduate of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency at Parkview Hospital in Toledo, Ohio in 1980. He completed a Faculty Development Fellowship in Medical Ethics from Michigan State University College Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. In 1999, Dr. Eckstein completed a Clinician Educator Fellowship in Occupational Medicine from Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also holds a Masters of Public Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Double boarded in Family Practice and Occupational Medicine, Dr. Eckstein has earned credentials from the American Association of Medical Review Officers and the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians and is a certified FAA Senior Medical Examiner. Dr. Eckstein was elected President of the American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventative Medicine in 2009. He also serves as assistant clinical professor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a Certified Medical Review Officer.

Aimin Zhang, MD
Dr. Zhang oversees the Irving Clinic in Saginaw as its primary physician. Prior to joining the Covenant Occupational Health Team, Dr. Zhang practiced preventative medicine for over 20 years. Board certified in preventative and occupational medicine, Dr. Zhang received his medical degree from Xuzhou Medical College in China, and completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a postdoctoral fellowship in Toxicology and a Masters of Public Health.

Dr. Zhang is board certified in occupational medicine, and is also certified by the Medical Review Officer Certification Council. He currently lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and two children.

Dana Fontaine, DO
Dr. Fontaine is a primary physician and has trained and worked in the Great Lakes Bay Region for 23 years. Dr. Fontaine’s experience includes family medicine, urgent care, and occupational medicine, and she spends time in all of Covenant’s Occupational Health Clinics.

She received her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition from Michigan State University, and went on to attend Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She received her degree in 1987. Dr. Fontaine completed her residency in Family Medicine at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in 1991 and is board certified in Family Medicine. She is currently pursuing her board certification in Occupational Medicine. Dr. Fontaine resides in Midland with her family.

Melissa Bauer, FNP-BC
Ms. Bauer has worked in various nursing roles at Covenant for over 20 years. She received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Ferris State University in 1995. Ms. Bauer went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2001. Residing in Saginaw Township with her family, Ms. Bauer completed the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Saginaw Valley State University, as well as her Master’s Degree in Nursing, with an emphasis in Management and Education in 2005.

She is certified in Family Practice and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. In 2008, Ms. Bauer was nominated and received the RUBY Community Award for ‘Recognizing Upward, Bright and Young’ leaders in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
