The Best Heart Network for Miles

The extraordinary partnership that will save more hearts.

It’s three hospitals coming together for one important purpose: you. It’s a heart network that will save more hearts near and far. McKenzie Health System and Marlette Regional Hospital have come together to bring you the most advanced cardiac care close to home. Every second counts when it comes to a heart attack. Upon calling 911, the race begins to stabilize and save the patient’s life.

McKenzie Health System and Marlette Regional Hospital deliver the most advanced cardiac care close to home. But for extraordinary cases, they partner with Covenant HealthCare. Like when it comes to a more severe type of heart attack called ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). In these rare cases, when a coronary artery is completely blocked off by a blood clot, they send patients to Covenant HealthCare for life-saving balloon angioplasty. For patients, the process and treatment is seamless. The paramedics, ER team at McKenzie and Marlette and the staff at Covenant HealthCare are in constant communication with each other and patients are swiftly transported via LifeNet helicopter to Covenant for the cardiac procedure. This teamwork creates a new standard of care in the region, getting patients from their homes to the cardiac cath lab in an average “door-to-door-to-balloon” time of less than 120 minutes. When every second counts, this could be the difference between life and death.

This is an extraordinary partnership that will save more hearts. Maybe even yours.
