Visual/Perceptual Therapy

Our team of occupational therapists helps individuals improve their visual skills. Because your vision grants you independence and safety at home and in the community, through activities such as worksheets, computer-based tasks, functional activities in the clinic and in the community, and instruction in use of adaptive visual aids.

Visual/perceptual therapy helps adults and children who experience visual deficits that decrease the ability to effectively use vision during daily activities, such as:

  • Brain injury
  • Diabetes
  • Eye injury or disease
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Other medical conditions
  • Stroke

You will take an initial assessment that includes several specialized tests such as:

  • Color discrimination
  • Depth perception
  • Oculomotor skills (ability to quickly and accurately move eyes)
  • Visual acuity/sharpness
  • Visual field
  • Visual processing
  • Visual perception
  • Visual scanning

Covenant HealthCare also offers innovative technology, such as Dynavision, for better evaluation and treatment for our patients. Get the extraordinary and advanced care you can trust.

*To participate in visual/perceptual therapy in the outpatient setting, an individual must have a prescription from their physician requesting an evaluation.
