Extraordinary care means you have the safest care possible
Covenant HealthCare is committed to providing extraordinary care. This means we go above and beyond and take extraordinary measures to ensure the highest level of safety for our patients, staff and visitors. Our devotion to keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors has earned us recognition from The Leapfrog Group’s Blue Ribbon Panel. This panel is made up of patient safety experts from around the country. The Hospital Safety Score empowers patients to make informed decisions about their hospital care.
Patient Safety is a core value of Covenant HealthCare from the board of directors to the leaders to the staff and to the physicians. Our culture emphasizes the importance of being aware of our surroundings and being able to identify and report early any situation that may cause harm to a patient.
Here are some of our initiatives to ensure your hospital care at Covenant is extraordinarily safe:
We have a Safety Leadership Team. Led by a team of quality specialists, physicians and clinicians that lead our safety initiatives and training.
We have a Daily Safety Check-In. This daily meeting requires representation from every department across the organization to bring awareness of any potential quality issues and creates processes to improve safety outcomes.
We have Therapeutic Relationship Training. Our nursing staff has been learning techniques to connect with each person on a unique human to human level to create a culture of compassion and quality.
We have High Reliability Organization Training. All of our employees and physicians will go through this training to learn how to avoid accidents, mistakes and ensure that safety drives all decision making.
A hospital is a complex place. Extraordinary care does not just happen. It is crafted. It is consistently measured and improved. And it takes accountability and transparency with the entire team. We are very proud that culture and commitment to safety has helped Covenant HealthCare win praise from our peers with the awards and honors listed below. It’s an exhaustive list. But what it means for patients is that an extraordinary effort goes into making sure their care is as safe as possible.
