What is memory care?
It is for residents who suffer from or are diagnosed with Dementia and/or Alzheimer’s disease. It is a smaller community with specially trained staff to support residents.

What are the criteria for a person to be in assisted living?
Seniors who now need assistance to be available 24 hours a day to help with activities of daily living.

Covenant Glen is licensed through the state of Michigan. Home for the Aged residents must be 60 years old or older to live at an assisted living community.

What is the average cost per unit?

Are medical services being offered in the assisted living facility?
The primary function of an assisted living community like Covenant Glen is to provide life-enriching programs and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) to keep residents as busy as they choose, while providing opportunities to meet new neighbors and friends. Learning each resident’s needs, wants and desires and selecting the services that best complement their level of independence is our goal. Services provided include:

  • Assistance with bathing, dressing, walking and grooming as necessary
  • Daily/weekly housekeeping and complete laundry services
  • Healthcare management (including medication management)
  • Mobile emergency call system, monitored 24 hours per day
  • Organized activities
  • Specially trained staff 24 hours per day
  • Three meals a day plus snacks
  • Transportation

Covenant Glen management and operations team is working with Covenant HealthCare to evaluate what medical and preventative services will be offered to residents.

Is the assisted living facility staffed by Covenant employees/nursing staff?
While there may be health screenings and medical services routinely offered, the facility will not be staffed full-time with nursing staff or physicians. Covenant Glen will be staffed with its own employees in care staff, kitchen, administration, maintenance, activities and housekeeping.

Who are the partners?
Partners of Covenant Glen include the Wirt-Rivette Group, KEVA Investments, and Covenant HealthCare. The facility operations are managed through The Wirt-Rivette Group under the leadership of Clarence Rivette. The Wirt-Rivette Group brings experience and focus on resident service.

How did these partners come together?
The Wirt-Rivette Group, KEVA Investments and Johnsha approached Covenant HealthCare about a partnership. Covenant has had a formal presence in the Frankenmuth community since 1999 with Covenant MedExpress at 600 North Main Street.
