Join the Covenant HealthCare Patient and Family Advisory Council
More and more hospitals are leveraging the knowledge and experience of their former patients to improve future quality of care. To do so, many are setting up Patient and Family Advisory Councils (PFACs) to provide a platform for patients’ ideas to be heard and acted upon.
At Covenant HealthCare, we’ve recognized the value of our patients’ voices. That’s why we strongly promote our PFAC, and encourage you to join.
What is the PFAC?
Our PFAC was formed so past patients and their family members/caregivers could share their experiences and help us continue to improve the level of care we provide. It is our hope that by partnering with those we have served in the past, we can identify opportunities for change, enhance patient and family-centered care, and pursue clinical excellence.
We currently have councils specific to general hospital operations, physician offices and cancer care, and are actively recruiting for a women’s and children’s council that will be launching in early 2018.
Why should you participate?
In addition to patients, family members and caregivers, our advisory council is also comprised of Covenant staff and leadership. Because of this diverse network, membership offers a great opportunity to meet people and establish new friendships. You can also feel confident that your time will positively impact the lives of current and future Covenant HealthCare patients.
What does it entail?
Our advisory council meets each month for a two-hour dinner meeting. A meal will be provided as members:
- Provide feedback on Covenant projects
- Work on program development and implementation
- Share experiences and offer opportunities for improvement
