Patients who attend pre-operative education like JointWorks are less likely to have complications of:
- Infection
- Blood clots
- Pulmonary embolisms
- Emergency room visits after surgery
- Readmissions after surgery
JointWorks classes are held every Monday-Friday from 8:30-11:00 a.m.
Attend the JointWorks Education Class where you can:
- Learn how to prepare for your surgery.
- Discuss your plan of care while in the hospital.
- Find out what to expect as you recover at home after your surgery.
In JointWorks classes prior to surgery, you will meet with members of our acute care team – including physical therapists, staff nurses and an orthopaedic nurse navigator – who will help you throughout the process. This team will provide detailed information about what to expect before, during and after surgery as you continue your recovery at home. Our team will also give you valuable information to prepare you for each phase of care.
